Biopôle Postgrad Consulting

After completing advanced studies in the life sciences, PhD holders may find it challenging to navigate the transition into industry roles. Biopôle’s Postgrad Consulting Programme connects life sciences companies with top PhD and postdoc talent for tailored support in technology scouting and scientific evaluation. Companies benefit from the expertise of PhD-level and postdoctoral researchers, while the researchers gain practical business experience and build a portfolio for their future careers.

Launched in 2023, the Biopôle Postgraduate Consulting Program enables PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to support companies on strategic projects, such as:

  • The assessment of scientific readiness of startup technologies: By evaluating and challenging the scientific robustness of technologies developed by selected Biopôle healthcare startups. These consulting projects were framed by Alcimed, a France-based consulting firm with a strong focus on tech-driven industries, including healthcare. This initiative is part of Biopôle’s Investment Readiness Program and supports startups that have received funding from the Biopôle Fund.

  • The scouting and evaluation of innovative early-stage technologies: This initiative focuses on identifying promising technologies across Switzerland and beyond, aligned with the interests of Biopôle’s corporate partners in Medtech, Biotech, and Pharma.

My responsibilities since end of Q4 2024 includeS:

  • Designing and maintaining internal documentation to streamline onboarding and ensure consistency across projects.

  • Leading the onboarding process for trainees and scientific evaluators, ensuring a smooth integration into the consulting program.

  • Training and mentoring direct reports to ensure they became operational quickly and could contribute effectively to projects.

  • Communicating clear objectives, timelines, and expectations to the team to align efforts and maintain focus.

  • Monitoring progress and performance to ensure that monthly KPIs were consistently met.

  • Delivering monthly reports to external stakeholders (Biopôle’s corporate partners), to provide updates.
